IndiKids Earns Accreditation from National Association for the Education of Young Children

Indiana County Child Care Program, Inc., the child development laboratory for the Child Development and Family Relations program of the IUP Department of Human Development and Environmental Studies, has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)—the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.

The program went through an extensive self-study process and an on-site vist by NAEYC assessors and was rated in the 95–99 percent range for all ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related accreditation criteria.

“We’re proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards,” said Marti Higgins, executive director of Indiana County Child Day Care Program (Indi Kids). “NAEYC accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible. Indi Kids is committed to excellence and continuous quality improvement: teaming with parents to provide high-quality care and education services.”
