On November 8, 2011, members of the Student Affairs Division will recognize the 2011 recipient of the annual David A. DeCoster Excellence in Assessment Award.
This award recognizes an outstanding assessment project completed by a member of the Student Affairs Division. Dr. Karen Rose Cercone and Ms. Barbe Moore are the featured speakers.
During the 2011–2012 academic year, departments within the Student Affairs Division are focusing divisional assessment efforts on diversity research, specifically student achievement, satisfaction, persistence, graduation, and skill acquisition related to students becoming “responsible learners (who) are engaged citizens of a diverse democratic society (and) who have a deep sense of social responsibility and ethical judgment. They are responsible for their personal actions and civic values.” (Expected University Undergraduate Student Learning Outcomes, adopted May 2006)
