Dr. Sally McCombie was recognized as the 2011 National Honorary Member by the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
Each year, FCCLA honors one person who has made outstanding contributions and who gives continuing service to the national organization.
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private schools through grade 12. FCCLA is the only national career and technical student organization with the family as its central focus.
McCombie received the award on July 13, 2011, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
McCombie is an associate professor in IUP's Human Development and Environmental Studies Department and coordinates the Family and Consumer Sciences Education program. in 2009, she was recognized as the Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Educator of the Year by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
