IUP’s new M.A. in Spanish is a program of advanced study combining the areas of foreign language pedagogy, Hispanic literatures and cultures, and Spanish language and applied linguistics.
The program is ideal for K-12 teachers of Spanish; professionals seeking career opportunities in international business, translation, and government; and future doctoral students.
Take courses during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Flexible scheduling allows for full- or part-time pursuit of the degree, with many late afternoon and evening classes.
Choose from one of two tracks: Applied Linguistics andTeaching Methodology or Literatures and Cultures.
Courses in both tracks integrate reading and interpreting authentic texts and explore cultural products, practices, and perspectives in the Spanish-speaking world.
The department is now accepting applications for Fall 2012. For more information, e-mail spanish-ma@iup.edu or visit the Spanish Department website.
