“The State of Black College Students” by Dr. Darryl Scriven

As part of the Micheaux Film/Discussion Series, the IUP African American Cultural Center will present “The State of Black College Students,” a film/lecture presentation by Dr. Darryl Scriven, producer of the film, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the HUB’s Ohio Room.

The film is a thirty-minute documentary by Dr. Scriven that “explores the graduation rates, loan debt, and skill acquistion through the lens of African American students.”

A question and answer period follows the lecture by Dr. Scriven. The program is bound to be educational, entertaining, and exciting.

At 4:30 p.m. in the HUB Allegheny Room, a reception with Dr. Scriven will be held to allow for more informal interactions. The event is free and open to the public.
