Lowery Speaks at National Summit on Campus Safety

Dr. John Wesley Lowery, associate professor in Student Affairs in Higher Education, participated in a national summit on campus safety, cosponsored by Security on Campus, Inc. (SOC) and Lehigh University, on Thursday, September 29, 2011.

Dr. Lowery was an invited panelist in the concluding panel on sexual violence at “Proceeding in Partnership: The Future of Campus Safety.”

Security on Campus was founded by Howard and Constance Clery after the rape and murder of their daughter, Jeanne, by another Lehigh student in 1986. SOC has been the leading force for federal legislation on campus safety for two decades.

Dr. Lowery has worked with SOC on variety of projects, including developing and presenting national training on the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
