On Sunday, October 2, 2011, Dr. Kelly Heider, education librarian at the IUP Libraries, presented a workshop at the Pennsylvania Library Association’s annual conference titled “Service Learning at the University Library.”
This year’s conference was held at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel in State College, Pa. The theme was “Winning Strategies for Libraries.”
Attendees of Dr. Heider’s workshop explored the history of service learning, learned about a successful service-learning program at the IUP Libraries, and worked with other session participants to develop innovative ideas for service-learning programs at their own libraries.
