Machado Presents on Teachers' Leadership Roles and on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Projects

In June 2011, Dr. Crystal Machado, Professional Studies in Education, and doctoral students Jason Smith and Ying Jiang presented a paper titled “Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Projects: The Intended and Unintended Benefits to Doctoral Graduate Assistants ‘Behind the Scenes’.”

The paper was presented during the Teacher Scholar Symposium at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In August 2011, Machado, Dr. Michelle Sobolak, and doctoral student Ying Jiang presented the paper “Am I Really a Leader? Teachers’ Perceptions about the Leadership Roles They Can Play Beyond the Classroom” at the annual conference of National Council of Professors of Educational Administration in Portland, Ore.

At the same conference, Machado and Sobolak also presented “Mirror Mirror on the Wall: What Teachers’ Reflections Reveal about the Type of Leadership being Exhibited in K-12 Schools Today.”
