Dr. Susan Shaw will present Building Feminist Communities Online: Women's Studies and Distance Education on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Monongahela Room, HUB.
This workshop will introduce Women's Studies faculty at IUP, Clarion, and other state system schools to approaches for developing a major in the field, particularly one that relies on distance education methods of delivery.
Dr. Shaw is a professor and the director of Women's Studies at Oregon State University, where she developed their online major in Women's Studies. She is the author of a widely-used introductory women's studies textbook, Women's Voices, Feminist Visions.
