The IUP Counseling Center has been reaccredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc., an organization of American, Canadian, and Australian counseling agencies.
IACS is an organziation that encourages and aids counseling agencies to meet high professional standards through peer evaluation. The Counseling Center underwent its fifth year review and site visitation/evaluation in Spring 2011.
The IUP Counseling Center was evaluated against high standards of counseling practice and was found to offer competent and reliable professional services to the university community. Approval by IACS is also dependent upon evidence of continuing professional development as well as demonstration of excellence of counseling performance.
The IUP Counseling Center first gained accreditation in 2006. We are pleased to continue to offer quality counseling, workshops, and programs to IUP students and effective consultation to the IUP community.
