I am saddened to report that Karen Dandurand, a member of the English Department faculty, died Monday, September 12, of cancer.
Dr. Dandurand arrived at IUP in 1986 and served as director of the Literature and Criticism program for several years. She was a beloved teacher who was known for her interests in nineteenth century American literature, women’s literature, autobiography, and letters.
She was one of the founding editors of Legacy, a journal of American women writers published by the University of Nebraska Press.
Funeral arrangements for Dr. Dandurand are not yet final.
