Archaeology Field School Featured in “Heat Wave Diary”

The IUP Archaeological Field School at historic Hanna’s Town was included in a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review article featuring people working outside during the recent heat wave.

Dr. Ben Ford, codirector of the Field School and a faculty member in the IUP Anthropology Department, and Andrea Boon, one of the students, were interviewed.

The article, published on July 20, 2011, is available through the TRIB Live News, the online version of the paper.

The field school is investigating the eighteenth-century first county seat of Westmoreland County, even through the recent week of ninety-degree temperatures.
