
The University Museum will host the Indiana Art Association’s (IAA) annual spring show in the museum galleries from June 4 to June 18, 2011.
Located in IUP’s John Sutton Hall, the exhibit marks the association’s seventieth anniversary show. There will be a free public opening reception on Saturday, June 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The exhibit consists of more than 130 individual works of art in a wide variety of mediums. Many well-known local artists will be represented, including John McCombie, Jolene Joyner, Joy Fairbanks, Jonelle Summerfield, William Double, Barbara Kern-Bush, Julie Bernstein Engelmann, William Perry, Richard Vitale, Kelly Moore, and David Young.
The exhibit includes several simultaneous shows:
- IAA Seventieth Anniversary Spring Show, judged by SAMA Curator Dr. Scott Dimond, works by IAA scholarship winner Desiree Cavalancia
- IAA Seventieth Anniversary Winners Invitational Exhibit, with thirty winners of three or more awards of third place or better in IAA spring shows
- IAA Founders Exhibit, featuring works by IAA’s founding members, including Ralph Reynolds, Orval Kipp, and Robert Cronauer, a number of which have been selected from the museum’s permanent collection
