Betsy Crane, Ph.D., director of Graduate Programs in Human Sexuality at Widener University, will provide the keynote address of IUP’s second annual Gender and Sexuality Symposium on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in the HUB’s Ohio Room at 9:00 a.m.

Her keynote, “Demythologizing Sex, Gender, and Sexual Orientation: Understanding Where We’ve Been and Envisioning New Possibilities,” will address how we think about the concepts of sex, gender, and sexual orientation. Crane will discuss each in terms of their history and complexity, and inspire us to consider what it means to envision a broader menu.

Presented by Women’s Studies programs and GLBT Commission.

Cosponsors: Psychology Department, President's Commission on the Status of Women, Sociology Department, Graduate Programs in Composition and TESOL, Graduate Programs in Literature and Criticism, History Department, and Business
