Dr. Andrew Feng Zhou, Department of Physics, presented “Outreach Activities to Promote Photonics Education for School Students” at the SPIE (International Society for Optics and Photonics) conference.
The conference, titled “Eco-Photonics 2011: Sustainable Design, Manufacturing, and Engineering Workforce Education for a Green Future,” took place March 28–30, 2011, in Strasbourg, France.
The presentation introduced hands-on activities for high-school students and teachers using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and solar panels. Zhou also served on the organizing committee for the conference.
