IUP piano students, faculty members, and guest artist David Allen Wehr from Duquesne University will perform Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. in Gorell Hall. The recital is part of the Chopin Bicentennial Festival.
The festival will be held in conjunction with the Polish Cultural Council of Pittsburgh and the Art Department at IUP, which is currently exhibiting posters of Chopin designed by Polish students and artists in Kipp Gallery. The event includes a competition for IUP piano students, judged by Wehr, a faculty member at Duquesne, and will conclude with performances by IUP faculty members and Professor Wehr. The recital will be followed by a reception in Kipp Gallery.
