Heider Presents on Library Instruction at Teacher Education Conference

On March 8, 2011, Dr. Kelly Heider (kheider@iup.edu), education librarian, presented “Who Says Library Instruction Can't Be Fun? Using Games to Engage and Motivate Students” at the twenty-second Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) international conference in Nashville, Tenn.

The SITE conference is designed for teacher educators, computer technology coordinators, K-12 administrators, teachers, curriculum developers, principals, and anyone interested in improving education through technology.

Presentations at this conference focus on the use of information technology in teacher education and instruction about information technology in preservice, inservice, graduate teacher education, and faculty and staff development.

The conference format consists of keynote speakers, invited panels/speakers, papers, symposia, posters/demonstrations, corporate showcases/demonstrations, tutorials/workshops, and roundtables.

SITE conference submissions are peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers, and usually three reviewers, who are members of the conference’s international program committee of experts in fields specifically matching the conference topics. Papers are subject to a double-blind review.
