Dr. Arden Hamer, Department of Developmental Studies, presented “Book Reviews: Proust and Reading in the Brain” at the thirty-fifth annual National Association for Developmental Education national conference in Washington, D.C., in February 2011.
In her presentation, she reviewed two current books on the process of reading, Proust and the Squid by Maryanne Wolf, and Reading in the Brain by Stanislas Dehaene, followed by a facilitated discussion regarding application to college readers.
