IUP faculty members and students from the Speech-Language Pathology program attended and presented at the 2010 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association national convention, held in November in Philadelphia.
Over twenty-five undergraduate and graduate students attended the convention. In addition to being very involved in the planning of the convention, IUP faculty and students conducted the following presentations:
- Dr. Jill Brady: “Cross-Linguistics Inference in English Language Learners from Various L1 Backgrounds”
- Dr. Lori Lombard with two graduate students, Kayla Kirkpatrick and Anne Rhoades, and local ENT Bosco Noronha: “Voice Symptoms in Patients with Thyroid Disease”
- Dr. Lisa Hammett Price with alumnus Seana Hollingsworth: “Parent-Preschooler Discourse During Storybook and Expository Book Sharing”
- Dr. Cynthia McCormick Richburg and Dr. Lisa Hammett Price: “Managing Auditory Processing Disorders in School-Age Children”
- Dr. Shari Robertson (who also served as the conference cochair for Speech-Language Pathology): “Leading in a Diverse World: Skills and Strategies” and “Through the Leadership Lens: Visions for Excellence and Change”
- Mrs. Karen Stein: Represented Pennsylvania on the Council for State Association Presidents as president-elect of the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association
