Budget Matters is a periodic, web video series in which David Werner, interim president of IUP, addresses topics relating to the budget and budget planning.

In this episode, released December 10, 2010, President Werner discusses the current fiscal year budget, including

  • addressing this year's shortfall and working toward a balanced budget.
  • avoiding additional expenditures out of the higher-than-expected performance funding.
  • controlling expenditures, primarily when examining if and how open positions are filled.
  • finding alternatives to dipping into the university's financial reserves.

Hosting the program is Mary Ann Rafoth, dean of the College of Education and Educational Technology.
