African American History Month Program 2011

The IUP African American Cultural Center (AACC) will feature several programs in recognition of African American History Month 2011.

In addition to a film showing of For Colored Girls and the theatrical performance I, Too, Sing the Weary Blues: the Langston’s Story, cosponsored by the College of Fine Arts, the AACC will host award-winning actor/performer, writer, and director Darryl Van Leer in Power on Earth, a one-man show that is "emotionally riveting," and features "vivid portrayls of some of history’s most important and influential African American figures," on Monday, February 14, 2011, in the HUB Ohio Room.

Sponsored in conjunction with the Six O’Clock Series program, you don’t want to miss this striking presentation by Van Leer that will help you feel a realistic sense of African-American history.
