In addition, Dr. Mark Doms, the chief economist of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and William R. Hackney III, a managing partner at Atlanta Capital Management Company, LLC, led a practitioner session on the status of the U.S. economy.

ASC’s board of directors also presented academic awards, sponsored by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, in the categories of best empirical research and best conceptual paper.

“ASC has had a rich history of attracting prominent keynote speakers from business, academe, and industry, said Bharadwaj, ECOBIT dean’s associate.

The conference also “had a strong international flavor with participants from several countries,” he said.

In addition to the annual conferences, ASC has three publications: Competitiveness Review, Advances in Competitiveness Research, and Competition Forum.
