Laverick Receives Promising Researcher Award

Dr. DeAnna Laverick, assistant professor in the Department of Professional Studies in Education, is the recipient of the 2010 Jerry Johns Promising Researcher Award, awarded by the Association for Literacy Educators and Researchers (ALER), an international literacy organization.

The Jerry Johns Promising Researcher Award recognizes excellence in literacy research, including well-grounded, supportive theoretical rationale, appropriateness of methodology employed, and conclusions, interpretations, and implications identified.

Dr. Laverick will be honored at ALER’s fifty-fourth annual conference in Omaha, Nebraska.
