Dr. Timothy Mack, dean, School of Graduate Studies and Research, will conduct a workshop titled “How to Recruit Graduate Students” on Friday, September 24, 2010, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Stabley Library, Room 210.
The principles for recruiting graduate students are the same for recruiting undergraduates—so, you can use the techniques for either group. You will leave the workshop with an actual plan that you develop during the workshop. The techniques really do work...you can improve the number of applicants, the quality of applicants, the diversity of applicants, and/or the “mix” (part time/full time).
Mack has given this workshop at two other universities, and it has been rated very highly by participants. He also presented this workshop two times last year here at IUP to graduate faculty members and various deans, and is hoping to reach an even broader array of faculty, staff, and administrators by extending the invitation to the university community.
Please RSVP to Tracy VanHorn-Juart, tracyvan@iup.edu, if you plan to attend. Mack looks forward to your participation.
Note: Stabley Library, Room 210, is on the second floor of the library. Go across the bridge and enter through the double doors. Room 210 will be to the right.
