Opening of 2014–15 Academic Year: Move-In Dates and Events

A host of programming is planned to celebrate the start of the academic year and welcome new students into the IUP community. The first day of class is Monday, August 25.

IUP, Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County Enter Fourth Year of Water Testing Contract

IUP faculty members and students will move into year four of testing water from the Beaver Run Reservoir as a result of a contract with the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.

Kovalchick Complex Named Third-Best Mid-Atlantic Venue

The Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex was ranked number three in the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Top Stops for venues with a capacity of 2,001–5,000 by Venues Today magazine.

IUP Allegheny Arboretum Awarded Level I Accreditation by ArbNet Aboretum Accreditation Program

The recognition means that the Allegheny Arboretum meets standards of professional practices important for arboreta and botanic gardens, and that the Allegheny Arboretum is recognized as an accredited arboretum in the Morton Register of Arboreta.

New IUP Students and Parents Participate in Time to Lead Orientation Program

In a special Sunday evening program, over 60 students were welcomed by President Michael Driscoll and Director of Admissions Mike Husenits and learned about opportunities in the teaching field from Terrance Hudson and Professor Robert Millward from the Black Men Teaching program.
