Nuttle Receives Outstanding Researcher Award for 2009

Dr. Tim Nuttle of the Biology Deparment was selected by Dean Zanich as this year's Outstanding Researcher in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. A reception will be held November 4, 2009.

Duchamp, Larkin Awarded $459,776 to Study White Nose Syndrome in Bats

Dr. Jeffery Larkin and Dr. Joseph Duchamp received an external award from the Pennsylvania Game Commission in the amount of $459,776 for their project “White Nose Syndrome: Multi-state Coordination, Investigation, and Rapid Response to an Emerging Wildlife Threat.”

Larkin, Students Present Fisher Research at International Conference

Dr. Jeffery Larkin, Department of Biology, and two of his graduate students, Hance Ellington and Sean Gess, were invited to present their research on Pennsylvania fishers at the fifth International Martes Symposium.

Biology Grad Students Sweep Awards at 2009 Wildlife Society Meeting

Ten graduate students working with Dr. Jeff Larkin from the Department of Biology presented their research at the 2009 Meeting of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Wildlife Society in State College on March 28. Dylan Schneider was named Best Student Paper and Lindsey Heffernan, and Hance Ellington each were named runners-up for Best Student Paper.

Larkin Awarded $60,000 to Study Golden-winged Warbler Ecology and Conservation

Dr. Jeff Larkin was recently awarded a $60,000 grant to continue his research on “Golden-winged Warbler Response to Habitat Manipulation in Pennsylvania.”
