Jennifer Nelsen received the Margaret Mahler Outstanding Student in Adult and Community Education Award for 2012. This award is given annually to the student in adult and community education who best exemplifies the spirit of lifelong learning.

Dr. Margaret Mahler was a founder and highly regarded professor of Adult and Community Education at IUP. The Margaret Mahler Foundation was established in her honor to support graduate students and recognize outstanding achievements of ACE graduate students.
