IUP Libraries Receives Civil War Pardon Signed by Abraham Lincoln

An 1865 Civil War pardon signed by President Abraham Lincoln was recently donated to the IUP Libraries as part of Dr. Earl Hunt’s Abraham Lincoln Collection.

Food and Nutrition Student Wins an iPad Mini for Completing the Library Scavenger Hunt

Over 100 students completed the library scavenger hunt throughout September and received a free t-shirt, but Anna Yusimova won the iPad Mini from all the entries.

IUP Librarian Cracks “Into the Wild” Mystery

IUP Librarian Ron Hamilton helped crack the mystery of Chris McCandless’s death. McCandless was the subject of Jon Krakauer’s best-selling book Into the Wild, later made into an award-winning film directed by Sean Penn. Controversy surrounds the death, which some view as the result of arrogance and stupidity, others as the result of accidental poisoning.
