Barefoot Joins IUP Libraries Faculty as Information Literacy Librarian

Maria Barefoot joined the IUP Libraries faculty on February 23, 2015, as information literacy librarian and library instruction coordinator. Barefoot will lead our information literacy efforts, promoting information literacy instruction and the value of library research skills.

Heider and Jalongo Publish Book on Young Children in the Information Age

IUP faculty members Kelly Heider (IUP Libraries) and Mary Jalongo (Professional Studies in Education) collaborated to edit Young Children and Families in the Information Age: Applications of Technology in Early Childhood.

NEH Grant Supports Collection Assessment and Workshop

A National Endowment for the Humanities grant awarded to the University Museum and the IUP Special Collections and University Archives will be used to assess the preservation needs of the Wilbur Coffman Photograph Collection and to offer a workshop on the care of photographic collections.

Rahkonen Presents on Finnish American Composer Martti Nisonen

Carl Rahkonen, music librarian, presented “Finnish American Composer Martti Nisonen and World War II” at the national meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study, part of the Yale Conference on Baltic and Scandinavian Studies at Yale University on March 13, 2014.

IUP Libraries Receives Civil War Pardon Signed by Abraham Lincoln

An 1865 Civil War pardon signed by President Abraham Lincoln was recently donated to the IUP Libraries as part of Dr. Earl Hunt’s Abraham Lincoln Collection.
