ArtsPath Hosting Regional Poetry Recitation Competition

ArtsPath, the arts-in-education program of the College of Fine Arts and the Lively Arts at IUP, will host one of 13 regional Poetry Out Loud competitions held in Pennsylvania that will determine who will represent each region at the state POL competition in March 2015 at the Forum in Harrisburg.

Blairsville Student Named Poetry Out Loud Regional Champion

Blairsville High School senior Joseph Kukula was named winner of the ArtsPath regional competition for the 2014 Poetry Out Loud competition held at IUP on February 17.

ArtsPath Offers Professional Development on the Arts and Autism

On March 8, 2014, professional artists Alison Zapata and Rebecca Covert will present a professional development session primarily for teachers and IUP students interested in arts integration strategies to engage students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in everyday classroom settings.

ArtsPath Representative Gress is Poetry Out Loud State Champion

David “DJ” Gress, a senior at the Kiski School located in Saltsburg, Pa., won the state finals of the 2013 Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest. He reached the state competition through the Indiana regional semifinals managed by ArtsPath.

ArtsPath Artist Wilke Opens Exhibit at Artists Hand Gallery

Visual artist and ArtsPath-rostered state teaching artist Bernie Wilke will open an exhibit titled “Outside In: The Public and Personal Work of Bernie Wilke” on March 5, 2013, at the Artists Hand Gallery in Indiana, Pa., running through April 5.

Professional artist and ArtsPath-rostered state teaching artist Julie Bernstein Engelmann is featured in an exhibition at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Altoona through April 20, 2013.

ArtsPath Completes Semester-Long Residency at IUP Punxsutawney

ArtsPath completed its fifth successful artist residency at the IUP Punxsutawney campus this month, holding a culminating event in conjunction with the December 3, 2012, campuswide Celebration of Learning.
