The African American Cultural Center of Indiana University of Pennsylvania presents an opportunity for participants to display their artist skills and celebrate the 2009 Halloween season at its first Pumpkin Decorating Contest, held on Friday, October 30, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a Haunted House tour at Haunted Hollow at Yarnick’s Farm.

On Saturday, December 12, 2009, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., the African American Cultural Center will present the annual Kwanzaa Celebration, a cultural celebration of family, friends, and culture, in the HUB Ohio Room.

The nineteenth annual African American Cultural Center Family Weekend Reception occurs Saturday, October 31, 2009, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room on the IUP campus. This event is free and open to all,

Just in time for Homecoming 2009, the second Monthly Cultural Enrichment Night, sponsored by the IUP ;African American Cultural Center, will include dinner and a Salsa contest at Cozumel Mexicano Restaurante of Indiana, Pa., on Thursday, October 8, at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, October 9, 2009, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room, come out and enjoy Homecoming 2009 with an evening of Afro-Caribbean culture that includes Afro-Caribbean Rock, Rap, and Reggae.

On Thursday, January 28, 2010, the IUP African American Cultural Center will host the twenth annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Commemorative Program.

The African American Cultural Center’s annual Open House will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. It will include a special appearance by IUP’s own Against All Odds Band.
