Two Performances of Tibetan Chanting and Dance to be Held

The Tibetan lamas in residence at our university this week will provide two free mini-performances of their sacred music and dances. Tibetan monks are known for their multiphonic chants, the bellowing tones of their ten-foot-long horns, and the unique movements of their spiritual dances.

Mystical Arts of Tibet Opening Presentation Today

The IUP community will have the opportunity to hear multiphonic chants, in which one person simultaneously intones three notes, as 10 Tibetan lamas mark the beginning of their stay at IUP with an opening ceremony on Monday, October 19, in the HUB.
