The IUP Center for Counselor Training and Services will offer a one-day workshop on self-injurious behaviors as the first of its Fall 2009 professional development series, delivered by two noted experts in the field on Friday, November 13, 2009, in Monroeville.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Counselor Training and Services will present a workshop May 8 on autism. The one-day event, Autism: From Research to Clinical Practice, will be offered at IUP’s Eberly Auditorium by Dr. Antonio Hardan.

Dr. John McCarthy of the Department of Counseling presented “Protective and Preventative Factors in Suicide” as the keynote speech to the conference of the Westmoreland County (Pa.) Task Force on Suicide (Greensburg, Pa.) in November 2008.

The Center for Counselor Training and Services is offering area mental health professionals and students two workshops focusing on counseling supervision and ethical and legal issues in counseling.
