On December 2, 2008, approximately 109 IUP student teachers attended the Student Teacher Professional Day Meeting. The student teachers learned about the final stages of their teacher preparation, procedures for earning certification, and resources for securing a job.

Sixty-seven graduate students and eighty-one undergraduate students applied for degrees from the College of Education and Educational Technology and were invited to take part in the December 14, 2008, commencement ceremonies.
