Theater Offers Up Futuristic Classic in “Fahrenheit 451”

Theater-by-the Grove at IUP will present “Fahrenheit 451” on November 6–8 and 12–15. This classic, provoking tale by Ray Bradbury centers on media influence and will be presented on the Waller Hall Mainstage.

Chinese Acrobats Coming to Fisher Auditorium

Direct from Beijing, the National Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China will perform a one-night-only event on November 11, 2014, at a family-friendly time of 7:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

Seeking Child Actors for IUP Theater Production

The IUP Department of Theater and Dance is seeking two male child actors, ages 10–14, to fill acting roles in the upcoming IUP Theater-By-The-Grove production of “Soldier’s Heart.” Actors of diverse ethnicity are encouraged to audition.

Natalia Kaniasty, an alumna of the Department of Theater and Dance currently enrolled in NYU’s graduate film-making program, is screening her pre-MFA thesis film Home Range at the Indiana Theater on Saturday, October 25, at 4:00 p.m.

Footlight Players Brings “The Dream” to the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival

Footlight Players, the youth theater company of the Department of Theater and Dance, performed Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” at the inaugural Pittsburgh Fringe Festival, May 10–11, 2014.

Collecting Pajamas for Local Children

The Pajama Program is an organization that collects new books and pajamas for local, underprivileged children and their families. This drive is being conducted in the Indiana community and on the IUP campus.

Wisnicki’s Livingstone Discovery is Subject of Dramatic Interpretation

The Livingstone Project, a new work about David Livingstone, the celebrated Victorian abolitionist, missionary, and explorer of Africa, will come to life December 6–8, 2012, in Waller Hall, presented by Theater-by-the-Grove.
