On Saturday, March 6, 2010, IUP at Punxsutawney will host the “Celebrate Local” Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. The fundraising event will celebrate wines from local wineries, including Windgate Vineyards and Winery in Smicksburg, Evergreen Valley Winery in Luthersburg, the Winery at Wilcox in Wilcox, Walnut Hill Winery in Blairsville, and Starr Hill Winery in Curwensville.

IUP at Punxsutawney recently celebrated Black History Month with a poetry reading. Students and faculty members read poems by such poets as Langston Hughes, Frances Harper, and Maya Angelou, and the Divine Praise Gospel Choir performed.
