The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology played a key role as a sponsor of the twentieth annual conference of the American Society for Competitiveness (ASC) held in Falls Church, Virginia, from October 29 to 31, 2009. The theme of the conference was “Transformation: Sustaining Competitiveness in an Interdependent World.”

The students from the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology had huge success in the recent Common Freshman Reader Essay Contest. There were 250 essay submissions, and of the nine winners, seven were from the Eberly College.

On Wednesday and Thursday, October 14 and 15, 2009, Mr. Eugene Bem will visit the IUP Eberly College of Business and Information Technology as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence.

Nineteen individuals representing thirteen small businesses are currently participating in a noncredit MBA Certificate Program offered by the Department of Business Development and Training Services.

On Friday, October 16, 2009, the IUP Small Business Development Center, along with the IUP Office of Workforce Education and Economic Development, will be conducting a program entitled “Manufacturers' Forum: Innovation for Survival amd Profit” at the Crimson Event Center.

The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology will host alumni, current students, faculty, staff, and business constituents for a Homecoming reception on Friday, October 9, 2009.

Participate in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology 2009 Annual IUP Business Golf Classic to be held at the Longue Vue Golf Club in Verona, Pa., on Monday, July 13.
