The group Focus the Nation will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 7:30 in 113 Uhler Hall, to discuss the impacts and responses to global warming.

Dr. Mary Lou Zanich, interim dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and IUP's Goldwater Scholarship representative, will be holding two informational meetings about the Goldwater Scholarship Program. The meetings are on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Weyandt Hall, room 305.

On Saturday, October 24, 2009, Kaplan will be offering a campuswide opportunity for students to take a free practice GRE, MCAT, LSAT, PCAT, DAT, OAT, or NCLEX administered under simulated testing conditions.

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will have a college-wide social for our students, faculty, and staff on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

All science majors are invited to a presentation by Dr. Jamie Houseknecht of Penn State University on nanotechnology on Friday, September 18, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. in Weyandt Hall, Room 331. Light refreshments will be provided.

The deadline to register for the Women in Mathematics, Science, and Technology Event being held on April 13, 2009 has been extended to April 1.

Jamie Houseknecht from the Penn State Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization will present a seminar on how to get Nanotechnology Track Options in your undergraduate degree from the College of Natureal Sciences and Mathematics at IUP on Friday, February 20, at 2:30 in Weyandt Hall, room 331.
