Terry R. Carter has been selected as vice president for University Relations and executive director of the Foundation for IUP. Carter, who will begin January 1, 2010, has more than thirty-four years of experience in fundraising, development, and advancement.

“Coal Bowl” Football Game Set for October 3

IUP will host the first “Coal Bowl” football game on October 3, 2009, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Coal Association. The winning team will receive a coal miner’s pail trophy.

Pidgeon Honored with Naming of Natatorium

The Memorial Field House swimming pool will be named in honor of the late John A. Pidgeon, formerly of Saltsburg and Indiana. Pidgeon established a scholarship for IUP men and women swimmers in 2004 and served as a volunteer swimming coach.
