The University Energy Office reminds the university community that the majority of IUP’s buildings operate on a limited and reduced climate control schedule during weekends and holidays. This method of finite operation reduces energy consumption and lowers utility costs for the university.

Near the end of 2009, a major energy-saving and conservation initiative was completed at IUP. Savings in 2010 exceeded the $1-million projection by $185,165—a total savings approximately 12 percent above the original projection.
