IUP Offering Free Cybersecurity Camp for Students, Teachers

Indiana University of Pennsylvania is offering a free Cybersecurity Camp for middle and high school students and teachers from June 13 to June 17, 2016, on the IUP campus. The camp is part of a national initiative supported by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation.

IUP Secures $185,000 Grant for International High School Teachers

As a recipient of the funds, IUP will serve as a host institution for 16 international secondary teachers (Fellows) for an immersive professional development experience. The ILEP Fellows also will be on site to learn from teachers at Indiana Area High School and Brashear High School in Pittsburgh to gain different contexts and perspectives on the American educational system.

IUP Clinical Psychology Program Ranked Fifth in Top 50 Best Programs by 'Best Counseling Degrees'

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s doctoral program in clinical psychology (the PsyD program) has been recognized as one of the top five programs in the nation by “Best Counseling Degrees.” The website evaluated programs from 69 different institutions and selected the top 50 programs for students.

IUP Seeds Club Planning Second Annual Seed Swap Project, Open to Community

The Strategies for Ecology Education, Diversity and Sustainability (SEEDS) Club of IUP, a student-organized group, will host the second annual Community Seed Swap on November 14 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event, free and open to the community, will be held in the Zink Hall gymnasium A.

IUP Recognized for Contributions to Society, Named a 'Best Bang for the Buck' College by National Guide Book

Indiana University of Pennsylvania has been selected, for the seventh consecutive year, by Washington Monthly for its national ranking of schools based on contributions to society. Only 11 universities in Pennsylvania were selected for the recognition in 2015. The three main criteria for the ranking were social mobility, research, and service.

IUP Dean Part of NSF Grant to Promote Gender Equity in STEM Faculty Positions

Deanne Snavely, dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, is part of a consortium of western Pennsylvania and northern Ohio universities to promote gender equity for faculty in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs. Snavely will work with two faculty from Case Western Reserve on the three-year grant from the National Science Foundation’s Advance Program.
