Department of Music Celebrates Jack Stamp

After 25 years as IUP’s director of Bands, Jack Stamp has announced his retirement effective the end of the spring 2015 semester. A final gala concert weekend is planned for April 24, 25, and 26. Alumni and friends are invited to join the IUP Department of Music in celebrating the career of Dr. Stamp.

Award-Winning Broadway Musical is Ovations! Season Finale

The Lively Arts at IUP will present Broadway’s award-winning “Memphis, the Musical.” Featuring the traveling tour direct from Broadway, the show will be presented on Monday, May 4, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

Music Professor Finalist In Music Education Essay Contest

Dr. John Kuehn, professor of Music and a University Professor, is one of eight finalists in the 2010 SmartMusic Music Education essay contest. The winner will be determined by the amount of people who go to the SmartMusic Website and vote for his essay.

IUP Music Student for a Day Program: 2010

The IUP Department of Music announces its Fall 2010 Music Student for a Day program. High school music students can experience a day in the life of a college Music major by attending music classes, performing in ensembles, and receiving a private lesson with an IUP music professor.
