Cynthia McCormick Richburg, associate professor of audiology in the Department of Special Education, has been appointed to the American Academy of Audiology’s Auditory Integration Therapy (AIT) Task Force.

David Stein, professor of speech-language pathology in the Department of Special Education and Clinical Services, has transitioned into the role of past president of the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association (PSHA).

Meghan McQuaide and Erin Keller, both current graduate students in the Speech-Language Pathology program, were awarded IUP’s Chacivity Award last year.

Seana Hollingsworth, a second-year graduate student in the Speech-Language Pathology program, was awarded several scholarships in the last year.

David Stein, professor in the Dept. of Special Education’s Speech-Language Pathology program, and Erin Keller, a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology, recently copresented at Latrobe Hospital’s Excela Health Neuroscience Center.

All Education majors are required to have a Speech and Hearing Screening for admission to Teacher Certification. During the Fall 2009 semester, students can come to Davis Hall, Room 263, on these dates to complete this screening.

Cynthia McCormick Richburg, associate professor of audiology in the Department of Special Education and Clinical Services, published an article in the Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy on the use of an electrotactile vestibular substitution system to facilitate balance and gait of an individual with bilateral vestibular hypofunction and bilateral transtibial amputation.

Dee Klein, professor in the Department of Special Education’s Deaf Education program, has been appointed to a state-level advisory committee for Deaf Education.
