IUP Libraries offers Films on Demand streaming video trial available now through October 31, 2009.

Beginning with the Fall 2009 semester, the IUP Libraries partnered with the Co-op Store to provide higher-priced textbooks through the libraries’ reserve service. This is an effort to provide students in need with an alternative to trying to decide which of their required books to buy.

The IUP Libraries will host a presentation by Dr. Irwin Marcus titled “A Brief Review of the Intellectual Fredoom Issue” on Monday, September 21, 2009, as part of the recognition of Banned Books Week: Celebrating the Freedom to Read.

Please join us for “Breakfast-and-a-Book” featuring Dr. R. Scott Moore and his recently published book Archaeology and History in Roman, Medieval, and Post-medieval Greece on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.

During the Fall semester 2009, the Orendorff Music Library will feature a display honoring Dr. Daniel DiCicco, director of Bands at IUP from 1956 until his retirement in 1989. DiCicco, a native of Beaver Falls, Pa., graduated from IUP in 1954.

Dr. Carl Rahkonen, librarian of the Orendorff Music Library, had two articles published during summer 2009.
