IUP Announces New Approach to Developmental Math Experience

Beginning in fall 2014, the departments of Developmental Studies and Mathematics will implement adaptive computer software called Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces in all developmental math courses.

Walker Publishes on Using Video to Teach Mathematics

Dr. Janet Walker of the Mathematics Department coauthored the article “This Rock’n’Roll Video Teaches Math” in Learning and Leading with Technology, a publication of the International Society for Technology in Education.

IUP Preservice Teachers of Math to Meet

If you are a secondary Mathematics Education major or an Elementary Education major with an interest in mathematics, join the IUP Preservice Teachers of Mathematics at their first meeting of the semester on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in the Northern Suites TV lounge.

Math Professor Reilly Presents on Mathematics and Writing

Mathematics Professor Edel Reilly presented “Writing + Math + Assessment = Opportunity: Forging New Interdisciplinary Connections.” Dr. Reilly also participated in a workshop on mathematics and fiction in Oxford, England.

Journal of Statistics Education Accepts Alumnus Rossman's Data Set

Paul Rossman (M.S. Applied Math ’08) had his data set “Drafted Minor League Hitters, 1992–2006” accepted in the Datasets and Stories department of the Journal of Statistics Education.
