U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Projects Strong Job Growth for Anthropologists and Archaeologists

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently listed anthropology and archaeology as having faster than average job growth in the coming years and as being fields where employees make better than average salaries. It is a good time to be an anthropologist!

The First Northern Appalachian Folk Festival

The Northern Appalachian Folk Festival will be held in downtown Indiana, Pa., on September 6–7, 2013. It will feature artists, craftspeople, musical performers, films, educational workshops, art exhibitions, food vendors, excursions, and theater performances.

IUP Archaeologists Investigate KCAC Parking Lots with NSF-Funded Ground Penetrating Radar Unit

Beverly Chiarulli from the IUP Anthropology Department and Alex Novo from IDS Stream used a new ground penetrating radar unit to investigate the KCAC parking lots during a week of training to test the instrument in May 2013.
