Taylor Publishes Paper on a New Model for the Origin of Sedimentary Cycles

John Taylor, Department of Geoscience, coauthored an article in the Journal of Sedimentary Research that provides a new, unconventional interpretation of small (1-2m), shale-based and limestone-capped sedimentary cycles in rocks of Cambrian age in the Rocky Mountain and northern mid-continent regions as the products of short-term rises in sea level.

B.S.Ed. in Earth and Space Science Receives NSTA and NCATE Accreditation

For the second time in four years, IUP’s Earth and Space Science Education program has been reviewed and found to meet the exacting standards required for accreditation by the National Science Teachers Association.
