Dr. Dawn Fels, this year's winner of the Composition and TESOL Promising Future Interdisciplinary Research in Literacy Award, has successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation titled The Vernacular Architecture of Composition Instruction: What the Voices of Writing Center Tutors Reveal about the Influence of Standardized Instruction and Assessment.
