Geoscience’s Lewis to Serve as Sub-Seafloor Science Instructor on U.S. Ocean Drilling Research Vessel

Jon Lewis, Geoscience, will set sail for the Juan de Fuca oceanic rift on May 16, 2013 to teach a cohort of educators attending the School of Rock aboard the JOIDES/Resolution about sub-seafloor science with an emphasis on faulting and great earthquakes.

Clark Presents on Neotectonics of the Greater Monterey Area, California

Joe Clark, professor emeritus of the Geoscience Department, presented “Neotectonics of the Greater Monterey Area, California” at the Pacific Sections of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society for Sedimentary Petrology joint conference in April 2013.

The Geoscience Department annual banquet took place on the evening of May 3, following the 39th Annual Geoscience Day Research presentations. The entire department would like to congratulate the award and scholarship winners.
