Department of Music Celebrates Jack Stamp

After 25 years as IUP’s director of Bands, Jack Stamp has announced his retirement effective the end of the spring 2015 semester. A final gala concert weekend is planned for April 24, 25, and 26. Alumni and friends are invited to join the IUP Department of Music in celebrating the career of Dr. Stamp.

Award-Winning Broadway Musical is Ovations! Season Finale

The Lively Arts at IUP will present Broadway’s award-winning “Memphis, the Musical.” Featuring the traveling tour direct from Broadway, the show will be presented on Monday, May 4, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

Beeken Adjudicates Across State

Ryan Beeken, director of Choral Studies, was recently invited by several organizations to adjudicate choral festivals throughout Pennsylvania.

Keystone Chamber Players Release First Commercial Compact Disc

The Keystone Chamber Players, a resident trio comprised of music faculty members Stephanie Caulder, Jason Worzbyt, and Henry Wong Doe, are proud to announce the release of their first compact disc, entitled Five in the Sun.

Jennings Presents Master Classes and Pedagogy Classes at Several Universities This Spring

Music faculty member Linda Jennings gave master classes to cellists at the University of Texas String Project, the University of Central Oklahoma, and Augusta State University. She gave string pedagogy presentations at Eastern Carolina University.

Jennings Presented World Premieres of Three Compositions in April

Music faculty member Dr. Linda Jennings presented premieres of three new works composed for her and pianist Dr. Chindarat Charoenwongse at the University of Central Oklahoma on April 2.
