Department of Music Celebrates Jack Stamp

After 25 years as IUP’s director of Bands, Jack Stamp has announced his retirement effective the end of the spring 2015 semester. A final gala concert weekend is planned for April 24, 25, and 26. Alumni and friends are invited to join the IUP Department of Music in celebrating the career of Dr. Stamp.

Award-Winning Broadway Musical is Ovations! Season Finale

The Lively Arts at IUP will present Broadway’s award-winning “Memphis, the Musical.” Featuring the traveling tour direct from Broadway, the show will be presented on Monday, May 4, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

Music Student Organizations and IUP String Project Raise Funds for Music Education Programs in Haiti

IUP Music Department student organizations joined forces with the IUP String Project in the Spring 2012 semester in several fundraising efforts to support arts education programs for youth in Haiti.

Jennings to Perform in Canada with Arcadia Piano Trio

IUP Music Department faculty member Linda Jennings will perform with the Arcadia Piano Trio at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Ridgeway, Ontario, on June 6, 2012, for its summer concert series.

Polyblank '09 Wins Grand Prize at Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition

Justin Polyblank '09, along with fellow members of the Barkada Saxophone Quartet, won the prestigious Grand Prize at the 2012 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition on May 13.

Stamp’s “Nagrobek” to Premiere in Minnesota

Jack Stamp’s most recent band composition, “Nagrobek,” will receive its premiere at St. Michaels High School in Minnesota on Monday, May 14, 2012. Conducting the premiere will be Adam Sroka (M.A. ’06), who commissioned the work from Stamp.
